"Lighters" is a song by the American hip hop duo Bad Meets Evil, a group composed of Royce da 5'9" and Eminem. As the second single from their first EPHell: The SequelShady Records serviced the song for mainstream radio airplay in the United States on July 5, 2011. The song features the American singer Bruno Mars, who was added after the original cut. The song was written and produced by Eminem, Battle Roy and The Smeezingtons. Eminem and Royce da 5'9" took a different approach, wanting to break the typical album format that stereotypical hip hop artists use. It also made reference to T-Pain, Wendy Williams, Kwame Kilpatrick, and Marshall.

Upon its single release, the song debuted at number 17 on the US Billboard Hot 100, and upon the album's release, it climbed to a new peak of number 16.

"Love the Way You Lie" is a song by the American hip hop recording artist Eminem from his seventh studio album Recovery (2010).Skylar Grey, a singer-songwriter, wrote and recorded the demo alongside the producer Alex da Kid when she felt she was in an abusive romantic relationship with the music industry. Eminem wrote the verses and chose the Barbadian singer Rihanna to sing the chorus; their past experiences in difficult relationships influenced the collaboration. Recording sessions were held in Ferndale, Michigan, and Dublin, Ireland. Backed by guitar, piano and violin, the track is a midtempo hip hop ballad with a pop refrain and describes two lovers who refuse to separate despite being in a dangerous love–hate relationship.

"Lose Yourself" is a song by the American rap artist Eminem, released as the first single from the soundtrack to his movie 8 Mile. Released on October 28, 2002, it was written and produced by Eminem himself, along with longtime collaborator Jeff Bass, one half of the production duo Bass Brothers. The song was largely written during the filming of 8 Mile, and plays to the themes of the film, as it is loosely written from the viewpoint of the character of Jimmy "B-Rabbit" Smith, Jr., who was portrayed by Eminem.
